The Indiscernible Beliefs

"Walking down the valley of my fears
Some rich voices came from the edge
Of that distant cliff
With a claim to convert us, the heathens
Speaking thus disparagingly of my clan's heritage..

The Hollowness of my race was proved ignorant..

Falling down were those branches of young green hope
From that strict cultured hillock
That once sustained in its rocks
the highness of our beliefs in equality
brought down to the wettest sand was our existence..

The previous dwelling of strong rocks was named hideous..

Held all the colors of our laughter and expressions
that reflecting water, now bounded and controlled
the clouds of prosperity shadowed with care all
the inhabitants
while the lightning fell on our 'lord of the heathen'

baptized as holy was that supreme religion of the majority
overshadowing thus the existence of our lord!

Our Beliefs were questioned.. Our differences challenged..
My eyes were red and misty, staring still with respect
The beliefs of the majority..
With a hope to see differently, my eyes blinked every other second.
Asking to all those eyes reading through the missal

Can religion ever be categorized?
Can individual beliefs ever be destroyed?

Should minority be treated as pariah by the majority?
Should we not chant that distinct name that prospers us in the same way
as Nanak or Jesus does?
Shouldn't we worship our soul, that voice, that guides us throughout silently?
Shouldn't we be spared of all the isolation, even if we follow a different name?

Let our lord be indiscernible.. Let it have no classification.. nor of religion, caste or color.. let us be in a society with classification of 'beings' alone..
Let our candles, incense sticks burn within us in front of our soul
Let it burn all the internal sins first..

Let our indiscernible lord be as it is, dwelling within us,
directing us in the direction which we shall make right..
Our indiscernible lord was made more strong by the acts of the majority..

"Any criticism, howsoever, shall always inspire, irrespective of the means it shall choose to achieve its end through that inspiration.." - The Belief of The Heathen..

Hmm... interesting way to dwell on such a topic as religion and God... the style again was typically 'Akanksha' :)... as for the content, isn't it a cry that we hear all around us, all the time... the cry for a single God, without name, without distinction... a cry from every single person around us, but when the time comes to take a stand, all of us just take a step back and agree to be mute spectators of the sacrilege being committed in front of us...

Btw, my biggest fear as a Writer as well as a reader is the meaning of the content being considered getting lost on the reader... don't you agree...

roy- hey, thanks..everyone has a different way to write..so dont compare..you write good as well..hope to see u too..

swetank..hi!! typically 'akanksha' huh.. :) can you pls explain what does this mean..i have a clue of what u r trying to say here, but still lets hear it from you..

well, yes, i completely agree though that unless someone is nicely aware of the words n their meanings, it would seem very complex to them..true!! but then as you understand what i write..so i think those who love this kinda style shall like it too..right?

Very profound and expressive for a student I must say. I am a poet too but I am the frivolous type.

Hiren shah-

hi.. thank you so much for dropping by my blog, it surely feels nice to know that people are able to relate to what you write, and well, i surely wish to take writing professionly , so hoping for the best..thanks for your comments..shall surely help me write better.. and writing shouldn't be judged with any sort clasification regarding age and experience.. its like an expression of your soul..that might may seem indiscernible at times..anyways, thank you once again..

hey,
thanks for leaving such a long entry on my blog.....and thanx for the friend stuff.....yeah well you can never have too many friends! and anyway about the whole letting people in stuff, ok i don't mean to be crazy but have you ever had a gut reaction to something or someone whenever you meet someone? well i do, and that's most often true and i live my life purely by my intuition and instincts, you know. ok i might be sounding really crazy, to you now. but mostly what i feel for the first time is right, and i wouldn't wanna get in and ruin my happiness, atleast the little that i have smiles anyway well yeah i do have my share of a good friend, he is just amazing, the perfect one. but i was just talking about dealing with people in everyday life, and adjusting to the new and strange circumstances, but again what would life be without them?
you can come and check out my other poems as well, or click on my web links and see my spooky stories.....but for me well i don't really put on my best work on net because i don't know feel they are close to me and they rather stay with me.......
have a nice day
